Otsahiukset [2022] - short story

Otsahiukset (Fringe) is a short story told from the perspective of a dead husband who once hurt his wife with a careless reaction to her new fringe, and who now tries to get messages through to her at a questionably competent psychic's office.

Otsahiukset is part of Kiharoita: Kirjoituksia hiuksista (Curls, Writing on Hair), an anthology edited by Mona Eid exploring the many meanings tied to hair, power, beauty, and representation across cultures, and how these meanings are lived and experienced by Brown people in Finland.
